About Me

 

 

Hi! I'm Sarah, and I'm studying Communications and Writing at the University of Michigan. I have big interests in social justice, reading, and video gaming - as I'm sure you'll understand as you read on through my portfolio. 

 

When I think about writing, I think about it as a way for me to put my experiences out there in order to attempt to teach others or encourage discussions about the topics I choose to write about. I want people to be able to learn something from my writing, and I think that is easiest when I can insert my experiences and perspectives into my writing. That makes it easier for me to engage in my own writing and research in order to create an opportunity for others to see my perspective and open their minds to it. 

 

My ability to insert my experiences into my writing has evolved over the last few years through my interactions with academic and online writing environments; I have been given more freedom to write about what I have experience with as the years go on, and I can't wait to see what the next step in my development is.
