For my Capstone project I wanted to be able to combine everything that has inspired me throughout the last few years of my writing into one big final piece. Writing gaming-centered essays and articles really cemented my interest in the topic, and of course I wanted to keep the focus on women in the field and the community, because that's where most of my experience lies. This project was also a chance for me to combine my writing skills with some exploration of web design and new media.

 

 

This combination resulted in the idea of Level Up. I wanted to create a magazine that focused specifically on the female gaming population that would cover everything from upcoming games to current events to talking with women within the industry. This last step in my college writing development has combined research, writing, and design, and ultimately lends to the presentation of my unique perspective on gaming. My biggest hope for the magazine is that it can be used as both a tool to educate members of the community on some things they might not think about, and to explain why those things are important.
